This protected area, consisting of two lakes
and a swamp and situated at the mouth of Val di Susa, is fit to face the
topics of geomorphology, eutrophication process of waters, adaptations of
flora and fauna to the aquatic environment.
The new itinerary of the Swamp and the Didactic Lab offer the
opportunity to carry out detailed study on macrobenthic fauna and the
pollution degree of the lentic water through chemical analyses and
microscope observations. |

Wetlands One-day tour: in the morning to Lago Piccolo with
observations of aquatic fauna: species behavior and forms of adaptation to
the environment. The flora and the role of vegetation in this fragile
ecosystem. In the afternoon, visit to Lago Grande and to Palude dei
Mareschi: the transformations of a lake and observation of amphibians,
insects, and marsh birds will conclude the day.

environment. In the afternoon, chemical and physical analyses in the
Park Laboratory; we will observe the weather conditions and we will watch
at the invertebrates thanks to video projections.

for Preserve One-day tour: the Park to enhance and conserve
traditions and human material culture. The exploitations of this protected
territory in history. Understanding how the lake has represented an
irreplaceable richness for the people living along its banks: fishing at

Environmental Education Programs
"Messaggi senza parole" - Messages without Words An
unusual journey in animal communication: sounds, fragrances, and colors,
the courtship rituals and their importance from an ethological point of
view; which are the rules governing the relationships among members of the
same species and not; relationships between parents and young
animals. A vision of the animal kingdom which is very different from
the anthropocentric vision we often have of it. One-day tour of Laghi
di Avigliana, an ideal place to observe the animals in their
environment.
- Advisable period: February/March
- Schools: second cycle of elementary schools, middle and secondary
schools
- Cost: Euros 120,00
"Ecosistema Lago" - The Lake
Ecosystem Similitudes, evolutions, and involutions of three
different ecosystems: lake, pond, and swamp. We will try to understand how
and why during the long eutrophication process the original organisms
populating these ecosystems have gradually given way to others when the
environmental conditions changed. Therefore, the program offers
interesting ideas for the study of the food chains and of all the links
between biotic and abiotic elements. Origin of lakes and features of
the lake environment: flora and fauna, adaptations. Marsh ecosystems:
the eutrophication process and the natural and anthropic causes generating
it. How can flora and fauna change according to the changes of the
environment. One-day tour to Lago Piccolo to observe the features of
the lake environment and in particular the migratory birds populating the
lake. In the afternoon, visit to Palude dei Mareschi, where it will be
possible to carry out an interesting observation of the amphibians which
in spring come and lay eggs and of the Grey Herons nesting in the
area.
- Advisable period: September/October - February/March
- Schools: elementary and middle schools
- Cost: Euros 120,00
"L'acqua ferita" - The Wounded Water The
program is aimed at observing the pollution of lentic and lotic waters and
how the environment signals its conditions of degradation through
"biological indicators". By using the most recent monitoring
techniques, we will analyze the waters of the Stream Sangone in its
mountain stretch and subsequently near a town in order to compare the data
of the same watercourse in a situation of changed environmental
conditions. The same methodology will be applied to analyze the waters
of Lakes and Swamps of Avigliana; in this case, for the analysis, the Park
Didactic Lab will be used. One-day tour along the Stream Sangone in the
area Forno di Coazze and collection and classification of invertebrates.
Analysis of water quality through IBE and RCE 2 methods.
- Advisable period: April/May
- Schools: second cycle of elementary schools, middle and secondary
schools
- Cost: Euros 120,00
One-day tour in Parco di Avigliana with collection of
macroinvertebrates, observation of lake environment and lab analysis.
- Advisable period: April/May
- Schools: second cycle of elementary schools, middle and secondary
schools
- Cost: Euros 120,00

"I colori del verde" - The Colors of
Green One-day activity with walk along Lago Piccolo to
discover many beautiful trees characterizing this environment. How can we
distinguish them one from the other? What should we observe to recognize
them? By using the 5 senses, children will learn to discover nature in
an exciting and involving manner. In the afternoon, drawing and colors
will be the instruments to identify the trees we have observed.
It is possible to reduce the exit to the morning, by excluding the
afternoon activities.

grasp without being in a hurry the main aspects of the sites you are
discovering.
REDUCTIONS will be offered on Environmental Education projects followed
by more than one grade in the same school.
The exits are carried out with a maximum of 25 children per guide.
